    • January 24, 2012 -- The LA County Supervisors approved both Met Tower appeals, effectively stopping the two Met Tower Projects presented by Element and NextEra

Attendees from Ridgecrest, Quartz Hill, Fairmont, Los Liebres, and other areas in the Antelope Valley gathered both at the Lancaster Library and at the Supervisors' meeting to express the overwhelming sentiment that the Met Towers, precursors to the industrial-scale wind turbines and solar farms were ill-sited and not welcomed in the Antelope Valley. The Supervisors unanimously concurred.  At the January public meeting, the Town Council passed a motion unanimously to oppose the Met Tower project. A copy of the QHTC letter can be found here.
